Start with both people in the frame
AI Hug makes a short video of two adults embracing from one shared photo. Both people need to be visible in that photo; the video starts from it and generates the movement toward the hug. You can choose a reunion, a spinning hug or a quieter hold.
Use a photo of yourself and an adult who agreed to this kind of animation, with both of you in the same picture.
Give the arms space
Choose a clear waist-up photo with visible shoulders and arms. A hug brings hands across clothing and around another person, so a crop that removes an arm leaves more for the model to invent. Crossed arms and heavily overlapping bodies can make it hard to tell whose hand is whose.
Check what the people are holding. A bag, drink or phone may move with the hand or change shape as the embrace develops. A little space around the pair gives you a clearer view of the movement. For a spinning hug, a wider source also shows more of the starting posture.
Reunion, spin or a long hug
Choose a Moment chip, or leave Extra details empty for the default hug. The three choices ask for quite different amounts of movement.
Reunion
The reunion choice adds an approach before the hug. It suits an idea where seeing each other and closing the gap are part of the moment. Leave enough of both upper bodies visible to check how they come together.
Spin hug
The spin choice adds a slight lift and turn. That gives the model more body positions to draw. Pay attention to balance, hands and clothing during the turn, especially if the source cuts off the lower body.
Long hug
The long-hug choice asks the people to hold the embrace quietly. You can add an emotional or romantic mood without asking for another action. A simple camera request keeps more attention on their faces and the way they hold each other.
Length and extra details
Both models receive the same photo, and the length can be five or ten seconds; a long, quiet hug has more room at ten. Mood, setting and camera chips share the 300-character Extra details field with your own text, so leave space for anything you type yourself.
Check the whole embrace
Watch both faces and follow the arms through the hug. Hands can merge into clothing, an arm can seem to belong to the wrong person, or a face can change when partly hidden by a shoulder. If they separate, check that movement too. For a hug where one person stands behind the other, use AI Back Hug.
